Found half-way between the legendary Mosque and cathedral and popular Tendillas Square, this tavern is a place to enjoy great local food “right in the middle”.
The house opened in 2012. Since then, it has establishing itself as a dedicated Flamenco tavern. The walls are covered with pictures of local celebrities, as well as posters depicting bullfight and funfair scenes.
Among El Picoteo del Gallo’s regulars are teachers and students from nearby conservatory. Thus it is not unsusual that occasionally a guitar is grabbed and a chant is sang on the spur of the moment. Then almost instantly a knot of people is forming in the street observing what is going on inside.
Due to extensive hours, El Picoteo del Gallo is always a good choice to make a halt and have a rich breakfast, or enjoy delicious tapas and other local dishes later on. It is even perfect to just have a pint of beer or wine while watching the hustle and bustle in the street.
