Taberna “Casa El Pisto” Plaza San Miguel 1, 14002 Córdoba

The neat San Miguel Square is the place where the Casa el Pisto is located. Embedded in the heart of the old town, close to the Tendillas Square, this enchanting tavern looks back at a history of more than a century. Therefore, the Casa el Pisto is one of the oldest taverns in town.
Also known as “Taberna San Miguel“, guests may enjoy delicious Cordoba style cooking. Hence the tavern owes its reputation not only its outstanding cuisine, but the fact that it is virtually a living museum where one can feel a breath of history.
A number of historic photographs, paintings and bullfight placards adorn the dining room and walls and help create a rustic atmosphere. And not to forget major personalities, including the famous “Manolete” and Julio Romero de Torres, that had visited the tavern, left their traces right here. Also the tavern hosted the foundation of the Guerrita Club in 1896. This association is dedicated to honoring another famous bullfighter of Cordoba.
Today, the tavern is popular with persons of many social classes, including intellectuals, politicians, lawyers, employees, as well as tourists from all over the world. who are intended to feel the real atmosphere of ancient times.
Since the tavern provides several private rooms, it is an ideal place for family reunions and similar occasions. However, it is recoomended to make a room reservation well in advance.
Casa el Pisto is focusing on home-style cooking featuring delicious regional dishes. The house’s specialties include the famous Cordoba Salmorejo, oxtail, Flamenquín (a breaded pork roll stuffed with ham) and the „Pisto“ vegetables from the pan.
