Rute - Ham Museum
Located near the Anis Museum, the Rute Ham Museum welcomes its visitors to show them in a didactic way how pigs were slaughtered and how ham and cured meats were prepared in the past.
In addition, the museum features an extensive exhibition of tools and other utensils that were used traditionally to make these products. In the adjoining butcher's shop, visitors are welcome to purchase the famous Rute ham or other meat and sausage products.
Worth mentioning is the fact that the fame of Rute ham has a centuries-old tradition. It is therefore not surprising that Miguel de Cervantes named them in two of his works as early as in the 16th century, "The Deceptive Marriage" and "The Grand Sultan Catherine of Oviedo".
