Built over the remains of a 17th century house, Casa de los Azulejos is a neat and enchanting place to stay. Today’s authentic Sevillian style is the result of extensive renovation efforts that took place during the 1930s. As a result of this reconstruction, the building’s patio became important as central element of the construction - as it is the case with so many mansions throughout Andalusia.
The vast banister and glazed doors are manufactured of exotic woods and give the interior an extraordinary character even today.
The hotel Casa de los Azulejos is situated in a calm street in the city center. Its patio is a peaceful place where one can reminisce. Surrounded by numerous plants and accompanied by the dabble of the water in the fountain, the patio is perfect for you to rest and be lost in reverie.
The patio also hosts a number of expositions taking place on the occasion of the Galería Azulejos. Here you may also find the library of the house which is, without a doubt, one of the coziest places of the hotel.
The light-colored and quiet guest rooms are accessible through a wide hall. Their decoration is characterized by luscious colors and a harmonious composition of wood, wrought-iron items and other natural materials.
Naturally, the overnight stay at Casa de los Azulejos includes a rich continental breakfast. Guests may have their breakfast on the terrace or alternatively in the dining hall.
The basement of the hotel harbors “El Escondite”, a traditional tavern where not only hotel guests can enjoy local dishes. Try out traditional treats like braised oxtail, so called Flamenquines or eggplants with honey. El Escondite opens 1p.m. - 4p.m. and 8.30p.m. - 11.30p.m. The tavern is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
