Those who love wine and good food, should not miss the Montalbán de Córdoba Wine Fest. Found some 40 kms (25 miles) south of the capital of Cordoba, the town celebrates its famous festival for the 8th time in a row.
Contrary to other wine fests that are held in the area throughout the year, the Montalban fest is dedicated to the so-called Tinaja Wine. Similar to an amphora, a Tinaja is an earthen fermentation and storage container for wine. The wine that matures in these containers is called Tinaja wine.
Counting more than 20,000 visitors, the Montalban wine fest is one of the most notable events of its kind in the entire region.
The festival program offers a bunch of activities and entertainment.
