Virgin of Linares Pilgrimage 2020
The annual pilgrimage in honor of the Virgin of Linares (Romería de la Virgen de Linares) is a piece of authentic local folklore. The people of Cordoba fervently venerate the Holy Virgin of Linares. In her honor, this pilgrimage is celebrated on the first Sunday in May.
Organized by the Brotherhood of the Virgen de Linares of Cordoba, the pilgrimage goes from Cordoba to the Sanctuary of the Virgen de Linares, which is located at the foot of the mountain range to the north. a few kilometers outside the city.
Accompanied by flower-decorated carriages and horsemen, the colorful pilgrimage initially leads through the main streets of the city before continuing on to the sanctuary. There the pilgrims receive the blessing of the Virgin, and the the most beautifully decorated carriages are awarded.
The sanctuary offers a day of fun with family and friends.
