Earth Hour 2019

The so-called Earth Hour is one of the largest movements in the world pointing to the climate change and reminding people around the globe of the need to take action to protect the environment. What started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia as a symbolic turn-off of several lights, has become a worldwide initiative.

Since then, thousands of citys, businesses and institutions have joined the initiative. The city of Cordoba has its share in this movement by turning off the illumination of major monuments, including the Mezquita Mosque and Cathedral, the Calahorra Tower and the Roman Bridge.

This year, Earth Hour takes place on 30 March with the lights turned off between 8.30 pm and 9.30 pm.

In the run-up of the events the Cordoba WWF location group has planned several activities, starting around 7 pm at Torre de la Calahorra entrance area.
