(Museo de las Bellas Artes)

Founded in 1862, the Cordoba Art Museum, or Museum of Fine Arts, is one of the oldest museums in town. It harbors a range of paintings of Andalusian baroque, as well as numerous works from other ages representing fine art from the 14th century to present. Paintings that can be seen include works by famous Spanish painters such as Goya, Murillo, and Valdés.

The museum is located at famous Plaza del Potro Square. A former church, Hospital de la Caridad, is home of the exhibition. Hospital de la Caridad also harbors the Museum Julio Romero de Torres. The latter is dedicated to life and work of famous local painter Julio Romero de Torres. it is recommendable to visit both museums at once.

Since 1962, the Art Museum has been preserved as special cultural asset (Bien de Interés Cultural).
