The rural guest house Casa La Barca is looking back at 300 years of tradition and history. It is located within a beautiful natural area, nestled between impressive mountain ranges. The Genil River flows around the property. Its with rippling waters provide a fresh atmoshphere especially in summer nights.
At one time, when the property belonged to the Benamejí margraviate, travelers and tradespeople had to embark boats in order to cross the river right at what is today the guest house. That circumstance contributed to the house’s current name „La Barca“ (The Boat).
Completely restored and providing a typical rustic and original character, La Barca offers space for up to 12 guests at a time.
The house has a fully equipped kitchen with appliances, including microwave oven, freezer and laundry, a cozy living room with chimney and a television room with cable TV, as well as four bedrooms and two bathrooms.
All rooms have radiators. Outside guests may use the spacious terrace and the garden with swimming pool and barbeque grill.
The neighborhood offers a lot to do, including hiking and biking on an official trail direct at the property. During summer, when the Genil River has its highest stage, canoeing and river rafting are other preferred leisure activities.
La Barca is located in the geographical heart of Andalusia. The Costa del Sol beaches can be reached in about 45 minutes by car. Historic citys of Cordoba and Granada may be reached in about one hour. From there, a stay at La Barca is the perfect choice for all who want to combine rural idyll with cultural experiences and beach holiday.
