Taberna Mesón Coto C/ Doce de Octubre 5, 14001 Cordoba

|
At first view maybe just another one of Cordoba’s many taverns. Paying closer attention, one will realize that this eatery is an insider’s choice. So if you want to try authentic traditional Cordoba cuisine, this is a place you should not miss.
The extensive menu features traditional local dishes, such as the famous Salmorejo (a cold tomato cream), as well as venison, which comes fresh from Sierra Morena hunting grounds. Also, you may try Iberian pork delicacies.
Among the house’s most demanded dishes are fried mushrooms, pork loin and the “Coto” meat spit.
Tavern Mesón Coto’s interior decoration is unparalleled, too. Its walls are covered with more than 400 photographs depicting city history, bullfighting, hunting and flamenco scenes. Highlights are the two bull, one deer and one boar trophies adorning the walls.
Another key decoration item is the so-called Traje de luces - the former bullfighting suit of Cordoba-born Torero Finito de Córdoba.
