Established in 1998, this tavern’s architecture and style feature a typical bullfighting atmosphere which is dedicated to the famous torero Manuel Benítez “El Cordobés”. Pictures of this honored man who was awarded the Califa title, decorate the walls of the local.
The tavern lies within the historic center district of Cordoba which is also known as the famous Judería quarter. The magnificent Mezquita Mosque and Cathedral and the Flower Alley (Calleja de las flores) are located in immediate vicinity of Taberna Jaular. Also the Museum Julio Romero de Torres on Plaza del Potro Square is just a few walking minutes away.
Taberna Jaular has capacity to service up to 90 persons inside plus 40 persons who can enjoy a stay on the house’s neat open-air terrace. The tavern is open all year with exception of 24th and 31st of December.
A large variety of specialties is waiting for the guests. Regional dishes such as oxtail, Salmorejo or deep-fried eggplants with honey are highly recommendable. Also, the restaurant provides an extensive range of tapas and portions.
Furthermore, Taberna Jaular’s traditional cuisine is specializing in preparing lusty seafood and meat dishes. Its renowned rice dishes include lobster on rice which is worth a try, as well.
