La Abacería, also known as Casa de la Tapa cordobesa, is conveniently located in the heart of Cordoba’s famous Judería quarter. Thanks to this privileged situation, many of the most remarkable monuments in town are found within walking distance.
This restaurant is part of Grupo Mandoble Group which operates two more inviting Cordoba restaurants: Garum 2.1 and Posada del Mandoble.
La Abacería is a typical tavern, representing mediterranean style and southern way of life. Guests will find an inviting, cozy ambiance. The upper floor provides a dining hall which accommodates up to 50 persons. So La Abacería is prepared to appropriately service even groups of travelers.
Behind the pictureque facade, guests will find a vast selection of tapas and dishes like they are not going to taste anywhere else. The typical Cordoba Salmorejo, oxtail, baked codfish or the unparalleled mushroom dishes should not be missed. Of course, the food is accompanied by complementary wines of the local Montilla-Moriles denomination and an assortment of fine national wines.
Worth mentioning are the homemade desserts being based on chocolate and fruits, as well as the so called Gachas, a milk dessert with honey, or Natillas, a smooth cream dessert.
It can be said that La Abacería is a place where traditional local cuisine is truly celebrated, carefully prepared with passion and to the best knowledge. By the way: Since 2009, La Abacería has been recommended by the Michelin -guide. The house was awarded with the „Q“, the local symbol for quality in tourism services. So come and try for yourself.
