The Mesón San Basilio is located in a typical old town house from the 19th century amidst the homonymous quarter which is also known as Alcázar Viejo. Numerous of the most remarkable monuments and attractions in town are in immediate vicinity of the restaurant.
But not only the excellent location in the very heart of the historic old town of Cordoba, but its great traditional plain cuisine make the Mesón San Basilio a massive “pillar” of the regional traditional gastronomy.
Among the specialities of the house, depp-fried eggplants, the famous Cordoba Salmorejo (a cold tomato cream), deep-fried fish dishes and the delicious oxtail deserve to be mentioned in particular.
The restaurant has enough capacity to serve up to one hundred guests at the same time. The house features several private saloons and a central Patio. This courtyard also serves as dining hall.
Furthermore, the restaurant harbors another dining hall being decorated as a wine cellar.
