The restaurant is located half way between the famous Mezquita and the Royal Fortress, next to a former city gate. After one has passed the entrance at the end of a small alley way, he will feel as if he would have traveled back in time.
The restaurant is harbored by a 15th century building that was constructed at a time when the Christians conquered the town. Its architecture is like a mirror of what happened in the course of centuries: stony walls, brick-cobbled fllors, ancient wooden doors and many other details: All that gives La Fragua a smooth, exclusive touch. Take the tables in the Patio for example: They rest on ancient olive trunks.
Fine Flamenco sounds accompany what happens in the restaurant and make their contribution to the wellbeing of the guests.
The attendance is congenial and knows about the desires of La Fragua’s guests. The cuisine of the house is based on traditional Andalusian dishes, accompanied by a number of own creations. Of course, only first class ingredients are used for preparation of the food served: The meat comes from the Pedroches Valley. Fresh vegetables are bought daily.
La Fragua’s chef recommends the traditional Cordoba Salmorejo or vegetables from the pan as starters. Fish and meat lovers will like to try the cod in sauce or the Moorish chicken. Whatever you choose, you may be sure: In La Fragua it is not about simply eating, it is about enjoying.
