Casa Museo Arte sobre Piel (Leather Museum)
Located in the heart of the historic center, this museum displays the lifework of Ramón García Romero who has been reviving the art of making so called Cordobanes (artful pieces of crafted leather) for more than 50 years. Five halls harbor the most brilliant pieces of his work, as well as artifacts and a lot of information.

Archaeological Museum
The Museum of Archaeology (Museo Arqueológico) features treasures from Cordoba’s rich cultural heritage, including prehistoric crafts, Roman statues and mosaics, as well as artifacts of Roman, Iberian, and Visigothic origin.
The museum’s upper floor is devoted to Moorish culture and history. One of the most impressive exhibits is a bronze deer statue which was found during excavation of the former palace city of Medina Azahara.
A must-see are the remains of a Roman theater which are integrated in the Renaissance museum building.

Museum Julio Romero de Torres
This museum displays a large figure of paintings of Julio Romero de Torres, who was a native of Cordoba and is regarded one of the greatest painters of Spain. Apart from his paintings, the six halls of a former church harbor personal things of the artist, including his brushes, his guitar, chattles and scripts. On display are also works that remained unfinished due to his death in 1930.
Furthermore, the museum features Renaissance, Baroque and contemporary paintings of several other artists, including Antonio del Castillo and Alejo Fernandez. This museum is located next door to the Museum of Fine Arts.

Museum of Fine Arts
This museum (Museo de Bellas Artes) primarily shows famous paintings from the age of Andalusian baroque. However, paintings of other epochs can be found, as well. Founded in 1862, this museum is one of the oldest museums in Cordoba. Located at Plaza del Potro square, a former church is home of the exhibition. Paintings that can be seen include works by famous Spanish painters such as Goya, Murillo, and Valdés.

Museum of Bullfighting
As its name indicates, this museum (Museo taurino) is devoted to the bullfight in Cordoba and its long tradition. Memorabilia of fabulous toreadors, posters, photographs, paintings can be seen there, as well as bull trophies and much more. The museum traces the backgrounds of famous toreadors, including the career of Manolete who was mortally wounded during a bullfight in 1947. Also on display is the head of the bull who killed Manolete.

Museum of al-Andalus
The Calahorra tower houses a museum where history comes alive. Advanced technology allows visitors to stroll on paths of long ago and to experience the way of life and culture of former residents of Andalusia. An interactive show displays how oriental and occidental cultures melted and how three different cultures, Muslims, Jews, and Christians, lived together in peace at this very place. The show is available in English.

Museum of the Patios
Located in a 14th-century palace, this museum is known as Courtyard Museum, because the palace has as many as 12 beautiful courtyards (patios) richly planted with palm trees, orange trees, cypresses, myrtle plants and flowers. Apart from these patios which are worth a visit on their own the palace offers an impressive interior, including leather wall hangings, historic chattels, collections of art objects and collections of firearms. Worth to mention is a library with 7,000 volumes.

Ethnobotanical Museum
A special museum can be found at the site of the Cordoba Botanical Garden: the Ethobotanical Museum. Inaugurated in 1980, it examines the human relationship with the world of plants. This museum is unique in Spain.

Diocesan Museum
This museum (Museo diocesano) is not widely known and therefore recommendable. Outstanding tapestries and illustrated prayer books from the Mezquita cathedral are on permanent display. One of the museum’s halls is reserved for regional artists. They are allowed to show their works there. The museum is located in a former bishop’s palace featuring impressive architectural elements.
