Situated in the heart of the so called Dehesa de Los Pedroches, the largest and best preserved holm oak forests in Spain, Cortijo El Mohedano offers exellent opportunities for a relaxating rural vacation.
Located on top of a rolling hill, the estate offers beautiful views of the surrounding holm tree forests and the Sierra Morena mountains that can be observed on the horizon. Free roaming Iberian pigs and cows peacefully browsing surrounding grassland can be watched.
The estate is a perfect example for historic rural architecture in that area. Materials such as granite, lime and weighty oak beams give the building a distinctive rustic congeniality. However, guests do not need to pass on modern amenities. Central heating and complete kitchen equipment with dishwasher, cooler and electric oven provide proper comfort, as does an enchanting fireplace.
Massive walls provide a maximum of thermal insulation throughout the year and guarantee an agreeable atmosphere inside at any time. The estate has four twin bedrooms and a garret to accommodate five more guests. Four living rooms, two equipped kitchens and a dining hall belong to the homestead. The swimming pool behind the house offers water fun and scenic views. Lovingly restored pieces of furniture give a glimpse of what life in rural Andalusia was like long time ago.
